The Emblem
Our logo means a lot to us!
The Whiskeyjack, or Grey Jay, was adopted by the Canadian Geographic Society as Canada’s National bird.
It is the only bird found all throughout Canada. It is very tough, choosing to nest at -40C instead of migrating south. It is very friendly, eating right out your hand. The Whiskeyjack is also one of the smartest birds.
Smart, friendly and hardy….obviously Canadian!
We were also intrigued by the stories of Weesageechak a legend of the Anishinaabe Peoples. He is known to be the trickster and teacher of life lessons. It is said that the spirit of Weesageechak is strong within the Whiskeyjack bird and that’s how it got it’s name.
We love our logo, and believe it represents our core values:
- Love and respect of our natural environment
- Pride in our heritage
- Commitment to our craft
